Houses, farmlands and goods worth millions of Naira have so far been lost to flooding in over 40 communities in Bayelsa State.

In some Bayelsa communities in Ogbia and Southern Ijaw Local Government Areas visited by Greetings Media Correspondent, Mike Modebe, residents were seen lamenting their loses.

The Traditional Ruler of Otuobiri Community, Ase Wilberforce who narrated his ordeal appealed to Government to come to their aid.

Also, the State Commissioner of Environment, Ebipatei Apaingolo who addressed newsmen during a tour of some flooded communities in Ogbia and Southern Ijaw Local Government Areas, expressed sadness over what he described as lack of support from the Federal Government.

Some communities currently submerged in water include, Onuegbu, Otiokpoti, Ologi, Otuobiri and Ozezebiri, Kainyanbiri, Opuama, Ofonibiri,  Oporoma communities and many more.
