The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar says he will divide the votes of the Northwestern region to defeat President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 Presidential election.
He spoke while speaking with newsmen after clinching victory at the Party’s National Convention in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
In his acceptance speech, the former Vice President pledged to work with other Presidential aspirants to clinch victory at the elections next year.
He also promised not to let Nigerians down if elected as President of Nigeria.
Earlier the PDP National Chairman, Uche Secundus while commending the aspirants for a show of sportsmanship, urged INEC to take a cue from the party on how to conduct a free and fair elections.
Speaking on behalf of the aspirants, Senate President Bukola Saraki assured Atiku of their commitment to work together with to deliver the party, come 2019.
The former Vice President won the PDP Presidential ticket with 1532 votes out of the total 3221 votes cast by 36 states and FCT.
The result was announced by the Chairman PDP 2018 Special National Convention Planning Committee Senator. Ifeanyi Okowa.
